It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita LaMantia of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Rita leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas LaMantia and Bruna LaMantia (Ambrosi); and her daughter Lisa Grillo. She is survived by: her husband Robert R. Salerno; her stepchildren, Robert Salerno, Jr. (Sophia) of Stanford, CT, Alaina Salerno of Bronx, NY and Anna Marie Salerno of Huntington Station; her siblings, Nicholas LaMantia (Paul) of Canton, Jeanette Tracey of California and Linda Morreale of Winchester County, NY; her grandson Daniel Tracey; and her stepgranddaughter Sophia Grace Salerno.
A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's Catholic Church (47 Central Ave, Wellsboro, PA 16901). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wellsboro Social Club (127 Kelsey St, Wellsboro, PA 16901).
