It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter B. Gorda of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 24, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Sr. Gorda and Anna Nemerovich Gorda; his former wife Phyllis Gorda; and his siblings, Paul, Alexander, Jr. and Dorothy Miller.

He is survived by: his children, Tonya McNamara (Tom) of Blossburg, PA, Rhett Gorda (Jeannette) of Fairbanks, AK, Julie Gorda (Aaron Graham) of Louisville, KY, Aimee Sapita (Mark) of Altoona, PA and Carrie Gorda (Matthew) of Seattle, WA.; and his sister Lovie Cunningham (Thomas) of Elmira, NY. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

“So saddened by this loss. What a gentle and kind soul and crazy smart!! So grateful that our paths crossed and Pete became a part of our lives. We have many memories - when we would visit his "neck of the woods" and spend time at the cabin. Shared many dinners together, visiting the "Tavern" - spotting deer and bear in his truck and sitting by the fireside - and he taught us how to make Leek soup! He will be forever missed. We loved him and made sure he knew that! Love, Vic and Crystal:)”

“At a loss for words and that's not often..What a special human being!!! What a king and gentle soul and crazy smart!- you will be forever missed!
