With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Ann Gilmer Tarr of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, born in Clarksville, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shirley Ann Gilmer left this world on January 16, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard James and Ocie Ferne McCarthy Gilmer; and her husband Clarence Edwin Tarr. She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Bates of Waynesburg and Tracy Tarr of Uniontown; her stepson Charles E. Tarr of Colorado; and her siblings, Margaret DeFrancesco of Waynesburg, Dorothy Fordyce, Loretta Furman and Thomas Gilmer. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home (3275 W Roy Furman Hwy, Sycamore, PA 15359). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Greene County Memorial Park (1003 Jefferson Rd, Waynesburg, PA 15370).
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jefferson Baptist Church, 177 Pine St., Jefferson, Pa. 15344.
