He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Jackson and Lena Mae Jackson (Williams); his son Robert L. Jackson, Jr.; and his brothers, Watson Jackson and Willie James Jackson.

He is survived by: his children, Brian L. Dade of Waynesboro and Alice E. Jackson-Hawkins of Waynesboro; his grandchildren, Brittany Dade, Jaela Walton, Brianna Dade, Aaron Walton, Jr. and Meghan Jackson; his great grandchild Novalee Jean Nolan; and his siblings, Leon Jackson, Jr., Zora Jones, Myrle Seals, Emma Bridgman and Annie Wright.
