He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Hawkins, Sr. and Hilary Hawkins (Bennett); his wife Virginia Marie Hawkins (Pyles); and his stepdaughters, Karen Payne and Donna Franck.
He is survived by: his close friend Sandra M. Bream; his sons, Paul E. Hawkins, Jr. of Maugansville, MD, Rick Hawkins of Maugansville, Michael Hawkins of Wichita Falls, TX and Tony Hawkins of Palm Harbor, FL; and his stepchildren, Kenneth Thayer of Florida, Johnnie Thayer of North Carolina and Angela Connelly of Maryland. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
