He was predeceased by: his parents, George Clinton Koons and Rayetta Koons; his former wife Patricia Ann Koons; his son James Allen Koons; and his stepson Quinten Henninger Coldsmith.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ruth Koons; his sons, Todd Jerome Koons (Mary) and Timothy Wayne Koons (Robyn); and his stepchildren, Ronald Lee Coldsmith, Edwin Ellsworth Coldsmith (Elizabeth), Gary Eugene Coldsmith (Donna) and Dawndee Wilkes (Rod). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
