With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John O. Freeman (Waynesboro, Pennsylvania), born in Quincy, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 30, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Freeman and Grace Freeman (Monn); his wife Doris I. "Punkey" Freeman (Emory); his foster parents, Bertus Freeman and Goldie Freeman; his daughter Cindy M. Wiley; his siblings, Clarence Freeman, Ronald Freeman and Valancy "Sis" Yeakle; and his foster siblings, A. Peggy Kline, Bertus Freeman, Stanford Freeman, Franklin "Ted" Freeman, Robert Freeman, Allen "Bubby" Freeman and David "Bill" Freeman.
He is survived by: his son John O. Freeman, Jr. of Waynesboro; his grandson Jason A. Freeman of Pen Mar, MD; his sister Kathryn "Kitty" Kershner of Upton, PA; and his foster sisters, Anna Carbaugh, Lona Bumbaugh, Mary Misner, Marguerite Welsh, Carol "Sonny" Freeman and Wanda Staley. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
