He is survived by: his parent Gladys Butler (Naugle); his wife Alexandria A. "Annie" Butler (Gauger); his children, Denise Niles of Woodbine, GA, Jake Butler of Sabillasville, MD, Roberta Moore of Chambersburg and Tony Butler of Princeton, WV; his stepchildren, Charlotte Gauger, Sheri McGhee, Shelly Minnich and Rose Minnich; and his sisters, Gloria Calimer, Darlene Daley, Debra Kauffman of Chambersburg and Shirley Clark of Mercersburg. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
