He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry P. Sr. Thornton and Lucile Thornton (Shelton); his son Scott Thornton; and his brothers, Henry Jr. and Robert Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Thornton (Bonebrake); his daughter Anne Thornton of Waynesboro, PA; his grandchildren, Andrew, Brennan and Elizabeth; his brother Edward Thornton; and his brother-in-law Lane Bonebrake (Gloria) of Kuttawa, KY. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
