He was predeceased by: his siblings, Michael Paige of Virginia, Marcellus Lewis of York, Walter Lewis of Philadelphia and Gracie Spottswood Moore Little. He is survived by: his wife Ann S. Spottswood; his children, Kimberly Spottswood Saunders (Mark), Michelle Spottswood (Charles Mahdi) and John Gentry (Tamara); his grandson Ethan Wiley Saunders; and his siblings, Alvin Lewis of York, William Lewis of Harrisburg, Jacqueline Rawlings, Betty Paige, Mary Bright of York and Sylvia Lewis of Harrisburg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
