She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles N. Hitchens Sr. and Corrie D. Hitchens; her siblings, Louise N. Hitchens, Charles N. Hitchens, Jr. and George E. Hitchens; and her niece Wendy A. Brown.

She is survived by: her sister Lillian H. Brown; her nieces, Linda C. Brown, Tara Greenidge and Angelique H. DeShields; her great-nephew Zachary F. Hitchens; her great-nieces, Sabrina DeShields and Erika DeShields; and her godchild Kim Hubbard. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
