He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant Barto and Mildred Barto (Feister). He is survived by: his wife Joan H. VanKirk; his son Scott; his daughter-in-law Laurie Barto of Watsontown; his sister Phyllis; his brother-in-law Ken Snyder of Exchange; his brother James; his sister-in-law Linda Newman of Turbotville; and his grandchildren, Caitlin and Jacob Barto.
