He was predeceased by: his father John Leighton Esser Sr.; his grandparents, Charlotte Potter (Zuck), Raymond Potter, Pearl (Lambert) and Martin Esser Sr.; his nephew Ryan Leighton Esser; and his mother-in-law Sharon A. Jones.
He is survived by: his mother Judith Marlene Esser (Potter); his wife Jennifer Lynn Esser (Jones); his father-in-law William E. Jones; his siblings, John Esser Jr. (Bobbie), Michael Esser (Tammi) and Jennifer Luczak (Gregory); his stepbrother Michael Wykoff; and his brothers-in-law, William Jones (Stella), Michael Jones (Ian Ames) and Brian Jones (Tiffany). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a great nephew, great niece, aunts, uncles and cousins.
