He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Welte and Jane Duffy Welte; his granddaughter Michelle Grace; and his brothers, Charles (Welte) and John Welte.
He is survived by: his wife Mary C. Welte; his children, Robert G. Welte, Jr. (Cathleen) of Binghamton, NY, Joseph F. Welte (Veronica) of Butler, Daniel C. Welte (Mary) of Harrisburg, Mark S. Welte (Linda) of Brookfield, CT and Mollie Welte Burnett (Brent) of Waynesburg; his grandchildren, Stephen, Rosemary, Michael, Gregory, Eric, Katherine, Anne, Amy, Patrick, Julie, Andrew, Paul, Sarah, Justin, Maggie and Nora; his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Snavely of Melbourne, FL; and his sister-in-law Martha Welte of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
