She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine Halder and William Halder. She is survived by: her children, Gerald Nies (Mary Ellen), Mary Nies, Lisa Serrao (Rox), Kate Braden (Terry), Sue Zoeller (Lee), Amy Nies, Ellen Blume (Bill) and Bill Nies (Laura); and also Gerald F. Nies. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
