He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lemoyne and Phoebe Elizabeth Patterson Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Patricia L. Brown; his children, James L. "Jay" Thomas, Jr. of Washington, Jeffrey L. Thomas (Fran) of Washington, Denise L. Hull of Pittsburgh and Lisa L. Thomas of Washington; his sister Margaret "Peggy" Perry (Louis) of Land; his grandchildren, Danielle Thomas, Troy Thomas (Maria), Jimmy Thomas (Chelsea), Courtnei Flannigan (D. J.), Keiana "Muffin" Randolph, Tiffanie Munchie, Ashley Moss, Conor Chatman, Kyle and Lyle Webb; his great grandchildren, David "Trace" Flannigan III, Cailyn Flannigan, Daureece Flannigan, Peyton Thomas, Gabriella Thomas, Yeshaya Murray and Kashton Bratton; and his siblings, Joseph, Louis Thomas and Betty Jean Vactor. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
