With profound sadness, we say goodbye to George W. Dawes of Washington, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. George left this world on October 10, 2024 at the age of 77, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though George may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those George touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dawes and Patricia E. Hilt; and his wife Dolores Bird Dawes. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Larry Lindley, Janet Medlen and Kathy Hull; his granddaughter Crystal Rivera; his great grandchildren, Preston and Anthony Rivera-Dawes; and his siblings, Tim Dawes, Dennis Dawes and Pat Slosar. He is also survived by several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

“George was a wonderful, caring and understanding grandfather to me and all my brothers, I spent most of my youth at the family farm in Southern Pennsylvania. He taught me hard work pays off and taught me so many things to be a ffa in the future, I spent most of my summers filling the barns, feeding the animals and taking care of the 88 acres we owned. Helped me with my studies and sold me my first car (Pontiac Fiero) loved that car so much! You will always be " the Smartest Man I Have Ever known”
