She was predeceased by: her parents, William Smutek and Caroline Smutek; her sisters-in-law, Sue Simon and Julie Grooms; and her nephew David Vassar.
She is survived by: her husband Paul J. Vassar; her brothers, Joseph Smutek (Mary Ellen) of Penn Hills and Edward Smutek (Jamie) of North Carolina; and her siblings-in-law, Marge Vassar, David Vassar (Sandy) and Henry Vassar. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
