She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Henry and Alverda Henry (Heckman); her husband William M. Powell; her daughter Barbara A. "Barbie" Rakowski (Powell); her grandson Cody; her sister Barbara Miller; and her brother-in-law Rich Miller.
She is survived by: her children, William Powell, Jr. (Pam) and Lori Shotts (Doug); her grandchildren, Megan Cornman (Ryan), Sean Powell, Thomas Shotts (Dani), Nicole Powell and Rosie Bennett-Powell; her great grandchildren, Skylar and Van Cornman; and her pet Benny. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and last but not least, her beloved.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. - Apollo (100 Owens View Ave, Apollo, PA 15613). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sylvia's memory to Tiny Cause Animal Rescue, 131 Columbia Ave., Vandergrift, PA 15690.
