He was predeceased by: his parents, William James Carney and Sara Alberta Carney (Watt); his siblings, Vivian Riggle, Margaret Michalakis, William Carney, Beryl Carney, Oliver Carney, Leverne Sullivan and Dewayne Sullivan; and his granddaughter Elisabeth Carney.

He is survived by: his wife F. Marian Carney (Grantz) of Washington Township; his children, Robert "Bob" Carney (MiMi) of Washington Township, Matthew Carney (Hilde Jensen) of Knoxville, TN and Sandra Mackintosh (Dan) of Derry; his grandchildren, William, Mathilde, Mathias, Jacob and Joseph; his nephew James Oliver Carney (Karen) of Florida; and his niece Lucille Gadd. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
