He was predeceased by: his parent Richard Horace Washburn. He is survived by: his spouse Mary Ann Sloan Washburn; his daughters, Julia Ann Coolahan and Molly Sloan Washburn; his son-in-law Kevin William Coolahan; his granddaughters, Keely Jean Coolahan and Clare Ann Coolahan; his brother Richard S. Washburn (Kathy); and his parent Julia Stevenson Washburn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Garey's passion for rescuing dogs donations can be made to Justice Rescue, P.O. Box 122, Woodlyn, PA 19094.
