He is survived by: his parent Jessie Rae Schaefer; his wife Leslie Carol Schaefer; his children, Jeffrey, Andrew, Scott and Deborah Schaefer; his stepchildren, Adrian Maurer and Senta Maurer Clarke; his sister Gretchen L. Jackson; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Hannah, Maximilian, Lucas, Stephen, Zachary and Rachel.
