He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Houpt and Edna Houpt; and his brother Richard Houpt (Katherine) of Ithaca, NY.. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Houpt; his daughters, Christina Franklin (Scott) and Birgitta Sweigart; and his granddaughters, Brittany Sweigart and Bonnie Sweigart.
