He is survived by: his sons, Pat Shaffer (Barb) of Warren and Rob Shaffer of Clarendon; his grandson Pat Shaffer Jr.; and his siblings, Donnie Shaffer of Sheffield, Karen Shaffer of Corry, Linda Leach of Warren, Darlene Hart of Clarendon, David Shaffer of Youngsville and Gary Shaffer of Sheffield.
