He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Swanson and Vera Swanson; and his wife Pamela Ann Conn Swanson. He is survived by: his children, Lori Eaton (Rick) of Warren and Michael Swanson (Gina) of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandchildren, Jessica White (Tyrell), Jeff Eaton (Ashley Cristea), Jaimie Stanz (Tanner), Alexander Swanson, Charlotte Swanson and Jonathan Swanson; and his great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jason, Jackson, Tyson, Ryleigh White and Peyton Stanz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church.
