He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Matthews and Ruth Matthews; his wife Catherine Matthews; his daughter Judy; and his brother James Matthews.
He is survived by: his son Roy Jr.; his brother Walter Matthews; his grandchildren, Kelly, Jimmy and David; and his great grandchildren, Ian, Corson, Sydney, Axel and Kellan.
