He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ethel Mary Fopeano; his parents, Dr. John V. and Margaret Fopeano; his sister Mary Longman (Kenneth); his children, Stephen (Ileen Berk), Paul (Marilee Warnick), Richard (Marjorie Potenza), Claire and Katherine Buchta (Martin); his grandchildren, Sarah Beard (Adam), Seth (Alison), Mark (Larissa), Nicole Reeves (Davin), Crista Bernardino (Bradley), William Buchta and Daniel Buchta (Chelsea); and his great grandchildren, Leopold, Louis, Charlie, Julia, Henry, Misha, George, Benjamin, Troy, Lola and Raven. He was also cherished by several nephews and grand nephews.
John and Ethel were involved in FIC, Foundation for Internal Cooperation, an organization dedicated to international cultural exchange.
