He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Esbenshade and Virginia Esbenshade; and his siblings, Robert, Spencer, Clyde Esbenshade, Evelyn Colden and Jayne Jolly.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his sons, John S. Esbenshade and James Esbenshade (Prudence); his stepson Richard Furchner, Jr. (late Michelle); his grandchildren, Sarah, John David, Abigail, Haley, Nathan Esbenshade, Enjoli Hurgunow, Richelle Sheets and Erich Furchner; and his sister Ruth Wrigley. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
