Elaine Craft wrote a sympathy message

“Just learned of Ed’s death at our town hall meeting this morning. My husband and I are former Ann’s Choice Braxton Court neighbors of Ed. We are still here but knew that he had moved on to our continuing care. We always enjoyed his pleasant smile and friendly conversations.”

“(cont'd) I have several articles about him that were published in Cheryl Kirby's wonderful magazine "Echoes of LBI," that will accompany the paintings for our daughters eventually, so that they "get the whole picture." They were not with us on the tour the day we bought the first painting, as I recall, so they didn't have the pleasure of meeting Ed. Both Tom, my husband, and I send our deepest sympathy to Ed's family. We're so glad we were able to meet him and to purchase (cont'd)”

“(cont'd) daughter after we depart this mortal coil, and we bought another of Ed's paintings a year or two ago at Wildflowers Too for our older daughter. And we've even seen one of his paintings above the toilet in the women's bathroom in the Episcopal Church in Barnegat Light! I did chat once or twice with Ed over the years and found him to be an absolutely delightful human being, and I even tried to get in touch with him via phone in late August this year, to no avail. Fortunately, (cont'd)”

“(cont'd) I wanted was of the 13th Street beach at Barnegat Light, which is the widest beach on LBI. The painting was fairly large and was framed by him in barn siding. The price: $75.00. Both my husband and I love that painting and in fact we took it just a week and a half or so to a framer to re-mat and re-frame, on the advice of the owner of Wildflowers Too, a wonderful gift store in Barnegat Light at which Ed's paintings had been sold for years. That painting will be for our younger (cont'd)”

“(cont'd) name of the next door neighbor whom I called to ask for his name and if she knew where his paintings were sold (she gave me his # and said the paintings are often available at fall events staged at Viking Village in the fall in Barnegat Light). At any rate, I called Ed and asked if we could return to his home to potentially purchase a painting. He said, "Yes," and I chose one that I really liked, keeping my fingers crossed that we could afford it. He explained that the one (cont'd.)”

Penny Jones wrote a sympathy message

“My husband and I met Ed on a summer day in 1996 (I think!) when we were taking a tour of the northern end of Long Beach Island, NJ, that was hosted by the LBI Historical Society. When I saw the watercolor paintings in the shed next to Ed's Victorian House in Barnegat Light, I knew that I must have one of them. Unfortunately, when the tour was over and we'd returned to the house in Beach Haven that we were renting for the week, I couldn't remember Ed's name, but the remembered the (cont'd)”

Meredith Holt wrote a sympathy message

“We have been friends of Ed's for many years and had him on our schedule to visit on our way up from Florida. Unfortunately, we were told that he was not able to see visitors. My husband David used to paint with him on occasion and we spent many wonderful hours at his beautiful home enjoying his wonderful cooking. The "new" range came from our old house. We loved him and we will miss him and we are so happy that he was an integral part of our lives. Our Condolences. David Nadas and Meredith Holt”
