She was predeceased by: her parents, Hyson Akers and Mildred Akers (Orndorff). She is survived by: her husband Jim Thompson; her son Bennett Thompson of Tampa, FL.; and her siblings, Phylis Bradshaw of Warfordsburg, PA. and Hixon Akers of Kings Mountain, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
