He was predeceased by: his parents, Esta Marie (Everts) and George Calvin Barton; and his siblings, Calvin Barton, Timothy Barton and Christena Weller.
He is survived by: his wife Connie M. Barton (Strait); his children, James E. Barton, Jr. (Stephanie) of Warfordsburg, PA, Kevin L. Bain (Brenda) of Hancock, MD, Brian L. Bain of Breezewood, PA and Loretta Shover of Tampa, FL; his siblings, Nelson Barton (Dotti) of Needmore, PA and Shirley Truax of State College, PA.; his grandchildren, Faith, Michael, Brian, Aaron, Morgan, Dalton, Alexis, Madison and Olivia; his great grandchildren, Callie, Dalton, Makinna, Cammie, Greenleigh, Easton, Brynlee, Marshall, Kaelan, Cillian, Matty, Nico and Hayzleigh; and his friends, Gary Bradshaw and Greg Mellott. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
