Martin Dennis Martinsen Obituary
Popularly known as "Warren" (a nickname friends bestowed at their confusion of the Norwegian custom of family first names and surnames being so similar), he was a great lover of music and lyrical interpretation. He studied the valuation of stringed instruments and kept a small collection of interesting museum quality guitars.
He also had a great love of rescue dogs and cats who, along with his wife, Cinthea, nurtured and loved in their home. His interests and passions allowed him many career opportunities and he eventually migrated into a career as a funeral director; providing compassionate care for both the deceased and living alike with his tender manner and comforting words.
A gentle, thoughtful and mild soul, he will be remembered for his kindnesses both great and small as he goes on to be with his Heavenly Father. Warren was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Florence (Byers) Martinsen. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Cinthea (Goodman) Martinsen, step-daughter Nicole (Culver) O'Hara and husband Nathanael, beloved grandchildren Juliette Rose, Luke Alexander, and Elise Noel, in-laws; Denice (Goodman) Sherksnas and husband William; Robert Goodman and wife Megan, as well as nieces and nephews; Stephen Moore, Kristin Sherksnas, Erin (Goodman) Hill, Will Sherksnas and wife Drew (Nelson), Kerry Sherksnas, Bryan Goodman and Kaity Sherksnas.
A memorial service will be held 10 am Monday, July 18th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7368 School House Rd,. Berwick, PA 18603. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Deborah Heart & Lung Hospital, Browns Mills, NJ,
