He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Schaffer; and his children, Earl Hess, Jr. (Virginia) of Wapwallopen, Richard Hess (Beth Anne) of Berwick and Donna Jensen (Scott Bennett) of Hobbie. He is also survived by four granddaughters and six great-granddaughters.
