He was predeceased by: his brother Gerald Hess; and his stepmother Deborah Hess. He is survived by: his parents, Walter "Butch" A. Hess of Wapwallopen and Carlene King (Stout) of Wapwallopen; his wife Ramona "Mona" M. Hess (Talanca); his children, Andrew T. Hess (Shannon), Antoinetta Aten (John) and Alicia Chupcavich (Brandon); his grandchildren, Colton, Madison, Tyler, Cody, Owen, Bailee and Austin; his stepfather Ron King; his siblings, Gail Stout (Brian), Scott Hess and Joel Hess; and his sister-in-law Tracy Hess. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to his family to help defray his final expenses.
