He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Shearer and Ida Shearer (Davis); his siblings, Clifford Shearer, Vernon Shearer, Florence McQuiston and Gretta Harper; his granddaughter Lisa Bright; and his great grandchild Lynn Hall Foster of Montana.
He is survived by: his spouse G. Eileen Boots; and his children, Patricia Bright, Cheryl McClain of New Beaver Boro, Pamela Andersson (Carl) of Chicago and Reggie Shearer (LeeAnn) of Wampum. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
