Dolores J. Derrickson Obituary

Dolores J (Feeley) Derrickson departed this life in the early morning hours of August 17, 2022 at the age of 86 surrounded by family. She was born in Chester, Pa to the late Hugh and Nora Feeley. She is now reunited with her parents, her brothers and sisters and other friends and family that pre-deceased her.

Dolores graduated from Chester High School in 1953 and started working for Bell Telephone. She left there and became a meat wrapper and deli hostessfor Pantry Pride / Thriftway in Brookhaven for 30 years. She always had a love for travel and seeing different cultures and having new experiences. She turned that love into a second career. She worked as a travel agent for several agencies before starting her own Cruise only travel agency and had amassed 72 cruises under her belt along with finding family members in Ireland and England while researching her family tree.

In her younger years before her knees went bad, she loved roller skating, walking, and dancing. She has always loved music and just being around people and trying to help. She would talk to anyone and give helpful advice when asked and had an extreme love of life and spunk. It was contagious when you were around her. She loved reading and books. She was always at the library or had a book in her hands. She wrote a young teen mystery book, but never got it published. She started painting about 10 years ago and appreciated beauty all around her. Most of the paintings in her house were done by her.Since she could no longer dance, she was known to follow and support her son-in-law's bands wherever they played around Delco. She was known in the band circles as "Rock Star".

Dolores was pre-deceased by her husband of 42 years, Milton J. Derrickson, Brothers John P Feeley and Thomas J Feeley, Sisters Anna M Peters and Nora T. Howe, daughters Robyn A Shannon and Cynthia S Johnson, and Grandson Michael K. Trageser.

Dolores is survived by and will be dearly missed by her beloved Daughter Nora J. (John). Clement with whom she lived, grandchildren Jesse N. Clement, Patrick J. Clement, Karyn A. Beck, Catherine D Hance, Michael D Johnson Jr, and Tara L. Johnson and many beloved nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Tuesday August 23 at 11 AM at Carr Funeral Home. Friends may call after 10 AM. Interment at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
