He was predeceased by: his spouse Claire Elliott Schartner; his daughter Jane C. Schartner; and his siblings, Carolyn, Thelma, Sandy, Stephen and August.

He is survived by: his children, Carl Schartner, Jr., Teresa Russell Cassidy (Garry) and Kevin Schartner; his grandchildren, Brittany Cassidy, Ryan Cassidy, Christine Missimer and Toni Epting; and his nephews, John, Joseph, James and Roy Wenger.

A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Lawn Croft Cemetery (1000 W Ridge Rd, Linwood, PA 19061).
