He is survived by: his spouse Bettialice "Betts" Ryan (Scholtz); his children, Shawn Ryan (Kayla) and Christian Ryan; his siblings, Kathy Goodwin (Tony), Terry Ryan (Diane), Kevin Ryan (Cathy) and Maureen Busa (John); and his pet Popcorn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society to benefit colon cancer research.
