With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carmel Marie Moon of Verona, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 7, 2023 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carmel Marie Moon to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph DeRiso and Palma DeRiso (Capalongo); her husband James T. Moon; and her brothers, Martin, Joseph, Neil and Frank DeRiso.

She is survived by: her children, James Moon (Rose) and Laurie Coldren (Michael); her grandchildren, Felicia, Jimmy, Jacqueline, Jayden and Julianna; and her siblings, Rudolph DeRiso and Tina Sanders. She is also survived by children, grandchildren, friends, co-workers.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave, Millvale, PA 15209.

“Jim and Laurie - we were so sad to hear of Carmel's passing. She was such a wonderful friend to our mother/grandmother, Hilah. Our girls would often visit when we were in Penn HIlls. On a few occasions she and Hilah stopped at our house when they were visiting the National Cemetery. I wish we could have brought Hilah from Ohio for the service. Please know she was there in spirit. We all have fond memories of her. - Terry, Marianne, Natalie, Andie and Kylie Villella”
