He was predeceased by: his parent Donald W. Merritt. He is survived by: his parent Meta Houy Merritt; his children, Catherine A. Smith of Venango, PA, Deborah S. Zimmer of Venango, PA, David W. Merritt of Springboro, PA, Kevin G. Merritt (Regina) of Venango, PA and Kenneth G. Merritt of Venango, PA; his grandchildren, Jesse Merritt, Maureen Baisley of Lake Waccamaw, NC, Jeremy Smith (Rosalie) of Virginia, Justin Smith of Venango, Katlyn Zimmer of Venango, Alison Merritt of Cochranton and Abigail Merritt of Cochranton; his great grandchild Ashley Merritt of Saegertown; and his siblings, Donald L. Merritt (Lois) of Venango and Geraldine "Judy" Leslie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, In addition to his parents and his wife.
