He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Downing and Elsie Downing (Coursin); and his siblings, Charles, Clarence, Claud, Chester, Bessie, Dessie and Elsie.

He is survived by: his sister Maybelle Reichenbaugh (Charles) of Apollo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
