He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald P. Detar and Emma J. Connor Detar; and his sister Lela Keller. He is survived by: his children, Maria Carpenzano (John) of Lower Burrell and Derek Detar (Melody) of Pittsburgh; his granddaughters, Ava, Emma Carpenzano, Blythe and Isla Detar; and his siblings, Thelma Detar of Apollo, Donna Lee Patty of Oklahoma Borough and Donald L. Detar (Paulette) of Vandergrift.
