He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Nancy McAninch Rimmel Sr. A; his brothers, John Jr. and Gregory Rimmel; and his siblings' children, John Rimmel IV and Brittany VanHorn.

He is survived by: his siblings, James Rimmel (Lorie) of Abilene, George Rimmel (Joni) of Leechburg and Mary Mousley (Rimmel) of White Oak; and his aunts, Mae Morgante of Vandergrift and Audrey Grajczar (Rimmel) of Gilpin.
