James Garland Simon Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 2, 2023, at the age of 89, James Garland Simon of Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Simon and Louise Simon (Farrow); his grandson James Anton Povirk; his siblings, Betty Huston (Bob), Joseph Wayne Simon (Beverly), Arthur Simon (Sandy) and Charles Gorgas, Sr.; and his nephew Jim Simon.
He is survived by: his wife Gaylene Simon (Tisot); his daughters, Laura Povirk (Chris) of Alverton, Jeannine Shaffer (Mike) of Greensburg and Kristen Younkin (Tom) of Little Summit; his grandchildren, Lisa Povirk, Matthew Shaffer, Madison Shaffer and Jacqueline Younkin; and his brother Ray Simon (Sarah).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
