He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward S. Skurka and Catherine E. Skurka (Baughman); and his siblings, Phillip Skurka, Barbara Daniels, Elaine McCune and Diane Norris.

He is survived by: his mother-in-law Margaret F. Heisel; his wife Marge; his children, Ed Skurka (Valerie) of Valencia, PA, Debbie Brandstetter of Saxonburg, PA, Rick Skurka (Sue) of Saxonburg, PA and Dennis Skurka of Grove City, OH; his grandchildren, Britni Brandstetter of Pittsburgh, PA, Josh Skurka of Saxonburg, PA, Nick Malis of Butler, PA, Jason Skurka, Ryan Skurka of Valencia, PA, Jordan Skurka and Emma Brandstetter of Saxonburg, PA; his stepgranddaughter Ashley Benson (Adam) of Evans City, PA; his stepgreat-granddaughter Raelynn Benson of Evans City, PA; and his sister Peggy Ackerman of Saxonburg, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family recommends memorial contributions be made to Allegheny Health Network Hospice and Palliative Care at, http://www.supportahn.org A private burial service will be held at Holy Savior Cemetery in Gibsonia, PA.

“I purchased a multi-level chessboard from Ed in 1985 and still have the board and letter he sent along with it. I wish I'd have told him just how much fun it's been for the last 32+ years, I sure hope he sold many of them so others hace enjoyed as much as we have”
