He was predeceased by: his brother Charles Hockenberry (Cathy); and his parents, Thomas Hockenberry and Margaret Hockenberry (Evans). He is survived by: his wife Dr. JoAnn V. Narduzzi Hockenberry; his children, James D. Hockenberry, Jr. (Janice) and Andrea Hockenberry Rea (David); his grandchildren, Anthony, Rachel Hockenberry, Andrew and Lucie Rea; and his half-brother Tom Hockenberry.
