He is survived by: his wife Sarayoobala Krishnan; his daughters, Nitha Viswanathan and Dr. Nikhila "Nikki" Viswanathan; and his siblings, Vilasini, Asokan, Murali, Malathi and Prasad. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
