Hannah I. Miller Obituary
Hannah I. Miller, 89, of Unionville, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg. Born on December 9, 1934, in her family's home in Unionville, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Aletha Agnes Solt Lucas. On June 15, 1956, in Unionville, she married Melvin "Muggs" LeRoy Connelly. Muggs passed away on November 29, 1985. On July 1, 1988, in Pennsdale, she married Amor "Chub" W. Miller. Chub passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Hannah was a 1953 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and earned her Cosmetology license in 1954. She worked at a couple beauty salons until opening her own shop in her home. She retired when her health would not allow her to continue. She made a tremendous number of friendships through the years.
Hannah was very active in her church, the Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years, would knit for fundraisers, creating beautiful baby blankets. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, knitting, sewing, and baking and was known to make the best crumb cake ever. She was very family oriented, attending her children's and grandchildren's school activities. Hannah cared for everyone and thought of all her friends as family. Everyone that knew her, loved her.
Hannah is survived by her two daughters: Wanda L. Thompson and her husband, David C. of Unionville and Brenda S. Kelley and her husband, Douglas, of Woodway, TX; four grandchildren: Mathew D. Thomspon and Benjamin Thompson both of Unionville, Laura K. Laubach and her husband, Todd, of Unionville, and Trevor C. Kelley of San Antonio, TX, and two great grandchildren: Avarie Ann Laubach and Casen David Laubach.
Also surviving Hannah is her sister, Florence Waite of Unionville, and her "Dogson", Buddy, of Milesburg; step children: Scott and Patricia Miller, Brian and Peggy Miller, Pamela and Clay Wriglesworth, Kevin and Lory Miller, Kenneth and Robin Miller and their respective families.
Hannah has many loving nieces, nephews, and the most wonderful church family that will also miss her dearly.
Along with her parents and 1st husband, Hannah was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Douglas Kelley; sister, Hazel Eminhizer and her husband, Leland; brother, Harold Lucas and his wife, Charlotte; brother in-law, Ralph Waite.
Family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 10-11am followed by the funeral service at the Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church on Runville Road in Bellefonte with Rev. Eugene McCallips officiating. Hannah will be laid to rest privately next to Muggs at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Boggs Twp.
Hannah's family would like to thank all the caregivers most lovingly at the Eagle Valley Personal Care Home who treated her as if she was their own mother and 365 Hospice who made sure she received everything she needed.
