With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Josephine J. Pelc Shaffer of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, born in Smock, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Pelc and Catherine Ozug Pelc; her husband William Shaffer; her daughter Karen Jo Shaffer; and her sisters, Stella Bell and Lillian Sedlock.

She is survived by: her sons, William F. Shaffer, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Newburg, PA and Robert Shaffer (Sara) of Easton, PA; her grandchildren, Tammi Shaffer Ritter (David), William Shaffer, III and Annalise Shaffer; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Ritter and Zachery Ritter.
