He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth Matzus and Bambrey; his siblings, Johnetta Upton, Kenneth Matzus and Terrance Matzus; his wife Wanda K. Matzus (Teets) of Uniontown; his son Steven Matzus (Renee) of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Walker, Carson and Brooklyn; his brother-in-law Bill Upton of Fairchance; and his nephews, Sean Matzus and Kevin Matzus.
